MEDFORD, WI (WSAU) — The Taylor County Sheriff’s Office has identified the Clark County officer who was arrested last week on suspicion of child sex crimes.
Jeremy Chapman was arrested on Wednesday, June 12th at his home in Spencer. Officers obtained a search warrant for his home through a tip from the Internet Crimes Against Children task force. He made an initial appearance in court the next day where he learned he was facing potential charges for sexual exploitation of a child and child enticement. Additional charges include threats to injure or accuse of a crime and threats to communicate derogatory information.
Chapman has since been released on a $10,000 bond after posting the first $2,500 in cash.

Further court action against the 38-year-old is pending.
The Taylor and Marathon County Sheriff’s Offices and the Wisconsin Department of Justice-Division of Criminal Investigation are handling the investigation. The Clark County Sheriff’s Office is cooperating.
