SAN DIEGO, CA (WSAU) — The Padres scored six late-inning runs to cap off a 9-5 win over Milwaukee Friday night.
The Padres onslaught came after Milwaukee had built a 4-1 lead going into the bottom of the 5th. The Brewers scored on four singles in the top of the frame from the likes of Rhys Hoskins, Christian Yelich, and William Contreras.
But San Diego had plenty left in the tank, coming back for two in the bottom of the inning on a home run by former Brewer Luis Arraez.
Sal Frelick recorded an RBI groundout in the 7th.
Brice Turang, Willy Adames, and Yelich each recorded two hits for the Crew. Jackson Chourio went 1-3 with a run scored and was lifted for pinch-hitter Jake Bauers in the 8th, who recorded a walk.
Colin Rea allowed six hits and five runs in 5.1 innings but did not factor in the decision. The loss went to Hoby Milner, who allowed two runs on two hits while recording just one out in the 7th.
Milwaukee and San Diego play again tonight at Petco Park. Pregame coverage on WSAU begins at 5:40 PM, with the first pitch after 6:00.
