LEIPZIG, Germany (Reuters) – Poland became the first team to exit Euro 2024 on Friday, but one fan was spared the pain of seeing much of their 3-1 loss to Austria as his stadium seat was directly behind a wide pole.
The supporter, who paid 60 euros ($64.15) for his ticket, posted a photo showing his view of the game and the goal directly below him was the area of the pitch with the least visibility.
“60 euro for this seat,” the fan named Daniel wrote on social media platform X.
The only goal scored on that side of the pitch was Poland’s equaliser from Krsysztof Piatek, denying Daniel a sight of his team’s one bright moment in a disappointing display.
His day got even worse when a 0-0 draw between France and the Netherlands ensured Poland will go into the final Group D game against the French with nothing to play for but pride.
