MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – After acquiring former Cy Young-winning pitcher Dallas Keuchel from Seattle on Tuesday, the Brewers are moving two starters and one of their better power hitters to the injured list.
According to a post on X from the team, Robert Gasser did have a successful “regular” Tommy John surgery, which is expected to lengthen his recovery time, and fellow pitcher Joe Ross has also been placed on the 60-day IL due to a back injury suffered earlier this season. Still, there is hope that closer Devin Williams (back) could return to the team before late July after missing the whole season up to this point.
In other moves, catcher Gary Sanchez (left calf strain) has been placed on the 10-day IL, and Eric Haase has been recalled from Triple-A Nashville to replace him. Sanchez has struggled this season, hitting just .218 with seven home runs and 21 RBIs.
