MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – The Milwaukee Brewers won their fourth game in a row after third baseman Andrew Monasterio walked off the Texas Rangers in the bottom of the 10th inning on Wednesday afternoon.
Newly acquired pitcher Dallas Keuchel got the start for Milwaukee, going four innings and allowing five runs on eight hits, but was relieved by Jakob Junis, who went two innings while giving up just one hit. Jared Koenig took home the win for Milwaukee after pitching a scoreless 10th inning and striking out two.
Christian Yelich led the team at the plate, getting three hits in four at-bats and scoring once, while top prospect Jackson Chourio continues his hot month, going two for four on Wednesday, including a key 4th inning inside the park home run. Chourio is now hitting .288 for June with 12 RBIs and two home runs.
Milwaukee will have the day off on Thursday before welcoming the rival Chicago Cubs to American Family Field for a weekend series. Colin Rea will get the start for the crew, while Jameson Taillon takes the mound for Chicago. The first pitch can be heard on WSAU at 7:10 CST.
