ARBOR VITAE, WI (WSAU) – On Saturday, a notification was sent to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation stating an accident involving power lines had occurred. The accident resulted in the closure of Highway 70 between Arbor Vitae and St. Germain for around 90 minutes due to a utility emergency.
The Arbor Vitae Fire and Rescue team stated a stretch of road between Old Highway 51 and Rudolph Road needed to be shut down when a collision occurred with the power lines across the street. A detour was set up as the crews restored the power lines and cleaned up the debris from the crash.
The DOT said the closure happened around 10:26 A.M. and reopened just before noon.
