Lucas Aschbrenner
ARBOR VITAE, WI (WSAU) — A former fourth-grade math teacher in a Northwoods elementary school is now scheduled for trial on child porn charges.
Lucas Aschbrenner faces two counts of possession of child pornography after investigators searched his home in early 2023 following a tip about the images, which were said to be linked to one of his online accounts.
The 46-year-old was arrested in March 2023 following a two-month investigation. He faces up to 50 years in prison if found guilty.
Trial dates are now scheduled for October 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. A motion hearing will be held on August 29th and the final pre-trial conference is scheduled for September 17th.
Aschbrenner has been scheduled for trial on a pair of other occasions. The most recent delay was due to a change in his legal team.
He remains free on a $25,000 cash bond but cannot leave Vilas or Oneida Counties without special permission. He’s also not allowed access to the internet or unsupervised contact with minors.
