STRONGS PRAIRIE, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – A 38-year-old Strongs Prairie woman died and two others were injured in a two-vehicle incident in Adams County on Friday.
Around 5:50 p.m. on Friday, the Adams County Sheriff’s Office got a call reporting a two-vehicle crash near the intersection of State Highway 21 and County Highway Z in Strongs Prairie.
According to the announcement, an early investigation found that a Ford F150 was driving southbound on County Highway Z when it failed to stop at the stop sign at State 21 and collided with a Volkswagen Jetta driving east.
The driver of the Volkswagen Jetta was removed from the vehicle, taken to a local hospital, and released. One of the F150’s occupants was flown to Marshfield Medical Center by Life Link III helicopter and is still in critical condition.
Sharon M. Peterson, 38, of Strongs Prairie, was the other occupant in the F150 and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Both occupants of the F150 were not wearing seatbelts and were ejected from the vehicle.
Deputies are currently investigating and do not know who drove the truck.
