WASHINGTON, WI (WSAU) – New polls showing the data for the presumptive presidential race for former President Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris are out, showing Trump with an early advantage.
According to the latest poll from SoCal Research, Trump currently holds an eight-point national lead over Harris, while he also holds a six-point lead nationally over Harris, according to the latest Emerson poll.
These polls come as Harris is expected to take over the Democratic presidential ticket after President Biden, 81, announced that he will be stepping down from the ticket due to concerns over his age and whether he could beat Trump in November.
Emerson also asked respondents about other possible candidates to replace Biden, which included California Gov. Gavin Newsome, who Trump leads by eight points nationally; Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmore, who Trump leads by ten points nationally; Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, who Trump leads by ten points nationally; and Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, who Trump leads by eight points nationally.
Other notable polls providing insights into the expected race include Harris X/Forbes, which has Trump up four points over Harris nationally, and YouGov/CBS News, which has Trump up over Harris by three points, as well as Democratic internal polling organization Data For Progress, which also has Trump up three points over Harris.
