GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) — Jordan Love will participate in practice sessions this weekend.
The former first-round draft pick has agreed to the framework of a four-year, $220 million contract extension that includes a whopping $75 million signing bonus, making him one of the highest-paid players in the league this year.
The deal includes an average annual value of $55 million.
Love is entering his second full season as Green Bay’s starting QB. He led the team to an uneven start in 2023, sitting at 3-6. Love recorded just over 2,000 passing yards and 14 touchdowns in that run, while throwing ten interceptions.
He would finish the season with 4,159 yards, 32 touchdowns, and 11 picks. All while leading the team from near the bottom of the NFC to a Wild Card playoff spot at 9-8. Green Bay defeated Dallas in the Wild Card round before falling to San Francisco in the Divisional round.
The deal was announced just hours after Love’s agents sealed a big payday for another 2020 NFL Draft class member. Miami’s Tua Tagovailoa received a four-year, $212 million extension. That deal includes $167 million in guaranteed money with an average annual value of $53.1 million.
Cincinnati’s Joe Burrow and Jacksonville’s Trevor Lawrence have also recently agreed to contract with average values north of $50 million in a skyrocketing QB value market.
