GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – The Green Bay Packers made a decision in their competition for the starting kicker position on Tuesday as two key rookies made their training camp debut.
According to the Packers Wire, Jacob Turner, who was undrafted in 2024 out of Michigan and was signed by Green Bay in June, was released by the Packers on Tuesday, making Andres Carlson and veteran Greg Joseph the only kickers on their current roster heading into Family Night on Saturday.
During training camp, Turner was 13 of 19 on live field goals, while Carlson and the seasoned challenger Joseph were 16 of 18 through six practices.
On Tuesday, Packers Head Coach Matt LaFleur also announced that safety Kitan Oladapo (toe) and running back MarShawn Lloyd (hip) participated in their first training camp practice this offseason, with both players are expected to start with individual drills before being worked back into live 11-on-11 work.
