GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – Green Bay Packers fans will see the team’s new-look alternate helmets for the first time not too long into the 2024 season.
According to a post on X from the team, the new white helmets and white uniform combo will be worn on Oct. 20 against the Houston Texans, which is being called the “Winter Warning” game. It’s a Week 7 game scheduled for a noon kickoff at Lambeau Field.
White uniforms and helmets have been worn on various occasions during the Packers’ history. The franchise used white as an alternate uniform color for the first time in 1938, and then again in the 1940s and 1950s before making it the standard away jersey color in the 1960s.
The team encourages fans to dress in white to support the players during the game and all attendees at the game will also receive a Winter Warning white scarf from American Family Insurance upon entering the stadium to help add to the snowstorm-like atmosphere.
