MADISON, WI (WSAU) — Last week’s speed enforcement campaign nabbed a motorcyclist going more than a little over the limit on Interstate 39/90 in Dane County.
According to the state patrol, a helicopter deployed as part of the enforcement campaign observed the biker going 175 MPH in a 70 MPH zone in the northbound lanes near mile marker 160. The pilot dispatched troopers on the ground to the location and managed to follow the motorcycle as it exited the freeway to local roads.
Officers say the motorcyclist, who was not identified in the news release, slowed down to “normal roadway speeds” after exiting. A ground trooper managed to pull over the rider and issued them a citation for speeding.
No further information regarding the stop was released.
