MERRILL, WI (WSAU) — Two families were displaced last weekend after a Merrill duplex fire.
The blaze was reported Saturday evening on Genesee Street in a multi-story home. Crews found significant smoke coming from the lower levels.
Multiple crews worked to extinguish the flames and prevent damage to the surrounding homes.
Three residents were evaluated for smoke inhalation at the scene. Two of them were taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
No injuries were reported among first responders.
The home has been condemned for now. The cause remains under investigation.
