GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – During Saturday’s Family Night practice at Lambeau Field, receiver Christian Watson nearly escaped an injury following a frightening collision with rookie safety Evan Williams during an 11-on-11 period.
When asked about the collision after practice, head coach Matt LaFleur said it looks like he should be available to practice this week, saying, “He’s ok. He went back in there in the next two minute. Scary moment, certainly,” and continued by saying, “I don’t think it was malicious by any intent. Evan Williams is going to make a play on the ball. Those are the ones you worry about; the bang-bang plays down the field. I told him just to try and lay off if you can.”
After having Monday off, the Packers will resume practice on Tuesday and Wednesday before traveling to Cleveland to face the Browns for their first preseason game of the off-season.
