WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Wisconsin voters decisively rejected two Republican-authored ballot questions that would have limited a governor’s power to spend federal money that comes to the state for disaster relief or other crisis reasons, unless it’s already earmarked.
The questions were defeated 57-43% and 58-42%.
Republicans had pushed the measures after Governor Evers distributed COVID-19 federal relief money without legislative approval, which was within his purview.
