MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – The Brewers broke a 1-1 tie on a William Contreras home run to beat the Guardians, 2-1, on Saturday night
Starter Freddy Peralta pitched 6 innings and scattered four hits. He improves to 8-7 this season.
The Brewers took an early lead on a Gary Sanchez RBI hit. Josh Naylor tied the game for Cleveland with his 27th home run of the season in the 4th.
Devin Williams needed only 10 pitches in the 9th to get his 4th save of the season.
The Brewers now lead by 10-game in the NL Central. With back-to-back losses, Cleveland’s lead in the AL Central is down to two games.
The Brewers go for a sweep against the Guardians on Sunday afternoon. Broadcast time is at 12:35pm on WSAU.
