BEVENT, WI (WSAU) – A fire in the town of Bevent early in the morning has destroyed a residence.
Fire Chief Brandon Damask stated in a press release that at around 3:18 a.m. on Friday, Hatley Fire was called to a residence located on Shantyland Drive. When they got there, the house and garage were heavily engulfed in smoke.
There was just one occupant of the home, according to the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office, and they managed to flee with their pet during the fire. By 4:45 a.m., the fire was mostly contained. No one was hurt as a result of the fire and authorities do not believe the cause was criminal.
