WESTON, WI (WSAU) — A Weston Trustee has resigned from his post for personal reasons.
Japer Hartinger resigned on August 20th, according to a statement from Village Administrator Jami Gebert. The Village Board has chosen to fill his seat through an application and interview process.
Any Weston resident interested in serving the remainder of the term is asked to submit a letter of interest and a resume by September 20th. Trustees will then interview all qualified candidates in an open session before voting one of them into the seat. That person will then serve through April 2026 with the option to run for re-election that spring.
Administrator Gebert says all letters of interest should include the following points: A.) why you are interested in serving on the Weston Village Board, B.) qualifications that you feel would make you an effective trustee, C.) prior municipal and/or community service, and D.) your respective goals/priorities if appointed to the Board for the duration of the unexpired term.
