MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – The Milwaukee Brewers got good news on the injury front on Tuesday afternoon as one of their best outfielders will return to the lineup after suffering a hip injury earlier this week.
According to Bally Sports’ Stephen Watson, outfielder Sal Frelick (hip) took batting practice on Tuesday morning and was seen running the bases during the team’s pregame workout. Frelick will bat sixth during Tuesday’s game one and will play right field.
After Sal Frelick chased down a foul ball that was hit by Mets catcher Francisco Alvarez over the weekend, he experienced pain and fell to the ground after his left hip struck the right field wall. A bone bruise was discovered during Saturday’s MRI.
This season, Frelick, 24, has established himself as a regular player for the Brewers in his second major league season. He hit .259 with eight triples, two home runs, 22 doubles, 32 RBI, 66 runs, and 18 stolen bases during the regular season.
