GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – One of the Packers’ top receivers has been suspended for their upcoming game against the Los Angeles Rams for skipping practice due to being upset over the lack of targets this season.
After Doubs’ absence on Thursday, the organization was “worried about his well-being,” according to Sports Illustrated’s Bill Huber, and team executives visited him at home. A source close to Doubs declined to provide Huber with a comment.
General Manager Brian Gutekunst spoke about the decision in a statement to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero: “Unfortunately, we had to make the difficult decision to suspend Romeo for this week’s game. His decisions and actions during the week negatively impacted the team and required us to take this action. While we are certainly disappointed, we are confident that we will be able to move forward in a positive manner. Romeo is a valuable member of our team, and we look forward to welcoming him back next week.”
With 20 targets, Doubs is only two behind club leaders Dontayvion Wicks and Jayden Reed in the Packers’ target column and has twelve catches so far this season for 169 yards and no touchdowns through the first month of the 2024 season
