WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) – The final four for the Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin award have been announced, with some surprising upsets finding themselves in contention to win the whole thing.
According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the final four will include John Deere’s X739 Riding Mower, Jolly Good Soda, Vulture Systems’ Revo ice fishing sensor, and Medalcraft Mint military medals and insignia after PS Seasoning’s The Works Burger Blend mix, Production Grinding and Machining custom metal benches, Smoky Lake Maple Products’ maple syrup evaporator, and Minocqua’s Popcorn and Puffs were eliminated in the round of eight.
The Bevi Bottleless Water Dispenser from Plexus Corp., located in the Fox Valley, won the competition last year with over 187,000 votes. Over 400 million single-use plastic bottles have been eliminated from use, according to Plexus, thanks to their product.
Voters can cast their ballots once per day per device through noon on October 17, and about 128,000 have been cast since Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce and Johnson Financial Group unveiled the more than 130 contenders entered the running for the distinction in September.
