WAUSAU, WI (WSAU)— With Halloween just around the corner, many shoppers and stores are already thinking ahead to the upcoming Christmas season, such as Fleet Farm, which will be opening its Toyland this weekend.
Starting on Saturday at 7 a.m., the popular retailer will open its Toyland to the public for the first time, and the first 125 customers through the doors will receive a free combine toy.
According to a survey of consumers in 2023, around half of Christmas shoppers in the US intended to start their holiday shopping in October, while only about 10% planned to start in December. However, a poll conducted by Bankrate in September found that 33% of shoppers plan on spending less on gifts this season due to inflation concerns, while 43% expect to spend about the same as last year.
Some of the top toys expected to be in high demand this season, according to Toy Insider, include a Barbie Mini Barbieland that retails for $27.99 for the whole set on average or $8.99 for only the house set, as well as a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem Pizza Fire Delivery Van that retails $19.99 at outlets like Target and Amazon.
