WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A Central Wisconsin woman accused of delivering the drugs that led to an overdose death back in 2021 is scheduled for a plea and sentencing hearing later this month.
Lyndy Lucas returns to a Marathon County courtroom on October 31st for a plea and sentencing hearing as she faces one count of reckless homicide by delivery of drugs and numerous other offenses.
Investigators believe Lucas provided the drugs that led to an overdose death at a home in Kronenwetter, noting that the victim was found with evidence of drug use next to him including a spoon and substance that tested positive for narcotics.
The Central Wisconsin Narcotics Task Force was able to trace the drugs back to Lucas, who was a “known dealer” in the area.
The reckless homicide count alone could land her in prison for up to 40 years. She also faces numerous other counts from previous cases which have now been reopened including threatening a judge, manufacturing heroin and narcotics, and spitting at a public safety worker or prosecutor.
Lucas, 43, pled not guilty to the charges one year ago. She’s jailed on a quarter-million dollar bond.
