WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — The Wausau Curling Club has released this year’s Club National Championship schedule at the Curling Center.
Practice sessions begin Wednesday at 3:00 with team meetings scheduled for 5:30.
The competition begins at 8:00 on Thursday with group-stage matches on six sheets. An opening ceremony will be held at 3:00 PM, with more group-stage matches to follow at 4:00.
Group play concludes on Saturday at noon. Knockout stage matches begin later that day.
The semifinals and final will be contested Sunday morning.
The bonspiel, or tournament, consists of 12 men’s and 12 women’s teams. Each gender consists of two groups of six teams each, with the top four teams advancing to the knockout stage.
The event is open to spectators, and tickets cost $10 for one day or $30 for an event pass. An event pass can also be purchased online for $25 through Wednesday.
