RICHFORD, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – A one-vehicle crash in Waushara County over the weekend claimed the life of one individual.
The crash occurred on 11th Road between Cypress Road and County Highway JJ in the Town of Richford and was reported to the Waushara County Sheriff’s Office dispatch center at approximately 5:30 a.m. on Saturday. There was one individual inside the car, and life-saving procedures were attempted at the scene. Following their transfer to a nearby hospital, the victim passed away from their crash-related injuries.
The vehicle was discovered immersed in the Mecan River, and deputies from the Waushara County Sheriff’s Office as well as local fire departments and EMS were dispatched to the location, according to a Waushara County press release. The circumstances that caused the crash and the vehicle to enter the river remain under investigation.
