ARBOR VITAE, WI (WSAU) — A former math teacher at the Minocqua-Hazelhurst-Lake Tomahawk elementary school accused of possessing child pornography will not go to trial next week as scheduled.
Court records show Lucas Aschbrenner had two counts of possession of child pornography dismissed on Friday. The 47-year-old had been scheduled for a three-day trial starting Monday.
Both sides met in court on Friday, with the prosecution filing a motion to dismiss. With no objection by Aschbrenner’s defense, the judge granted the motion and ordered bond money to be returned.
With the dismissal, Aschbrenner is now considered innocent of the charges. No further details on what led to the dismissal were provided in court records.
