STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – Governor Tony Evers paid a visit to Stevens Point to talk about current Health Care issues.
His visit in Stevens Point was held at CAP Services Headquarters. Here he held a round-table discussion with local leaders to discuss his future budget plans, and how he wants to improve Health Care accessibility.
Evers has goals to lower out of pocket costs, reduce appointment wait times, and prevent surprise medical billings.
Governor Evers said “When it comes to Wisconsin, we need to have Medicaid expansion, to make sure that our people in the state of Wisconsin get the same services, and resources that most of the other states do…. There’s no reason why it cant. All we need is frankly the republican legislature and in fact mostly the republican assembly, to get it done.”
After the meeting concluded, Evers added that he believes conversations went great. Leaders in Stevens Point shared stories and opinions on the governors plans, and what changes they want to see.
