WAUSAU, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – An annual art competition for middle and high school students is about to begin.
The Congressional Art Competition is a national competition in which kids from Wisconsin’s seventh congressional district are asked to take part. The district’s top student will be invited to a congressional event in Washington, DC, and have their artwork on display in the U.S. Capitol building for a year.
This year’s theme is “A Day in the Life of Wisconsin” and submissions must be dropped off or mailed to Congressman Tom Tiffany’s Wausau office located at 2620 Stewart Ave. Suite 312 by April 18th. The artwork cannot weigh more than 15 pounds and must be two-dimensional, measuring no more than 26 inches wide by 26 inches tall by 4 inches thick (including the frame).
Students who do not live in the seventh district can inquire about whether their office is taking part and how to submit their artwork by getting in touch with their local representative’s office.
