2025 NFL Draft In Green Bay - Photo by the Green Bay Packers
GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – A new analysis by CBS Sports took the latest results from the last 12 mock drafts from CBS Sports, ESPN, and NFL.com to create the most likely draft selections for each team for this week’s 2025 NFL draft.
According to the analysis, the Packers former Boston College pass rusher Donovan Ezeiruaku would be the best fit for Green Bay at 23rd overall, but if there are some other high-profile defenders still on the board, they may go in another direction, saying, “Rest assured that the Packers will likely draft either (Will) Johnson or (Jahdae) Barron if either cornerback is still on the board. If not, the Packers will likely address another facet of their defense. In this scenario, the Packers use the pick to select Ezeiruaku, whose 16.5 sacks last year tied Boston College’s single-season record.”
The Packers have not hosted Ezeiruaku for an official top 30 visit and did not meet with him at the combine. However, Ezeiruaku was coached and recruited by Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley when he was the head coach at Boston College until the end of the 2023 season, so the fit would make sense.
As a sophomore, Ezeiruaku led the Eagles in sacks and tackles for loss, earning a spot on the Second Team All-ACC. In 2023, he took over as the program’s full-time starter. In 2024, as a senior, he led the ACC in tackles for loss (21) and the FBS in sacks (16.5) during the regular season.
Scouts at NFL Draft Buzz have Ezeiruaku as the 52nd-ranked player on their big board and a projection to be selected in the second round due to him only being 6’2″ and 248 lbs., which will complicate exactly where he’ll play at the next level, as his tape from college shows that he struggles to win against larger offensive tackles due to his size. The latest ranking from Bleacher Report has Ezeiruaku projected to be selected in the 3rd round and as a high-level backup/potential starter in the NFL.
