STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU-WAOW) -UW-Stevens Point hosted an Eco Fair to highlight the importance of protecting the environment.
The event has been going on since the 1970s. It’s put on by the student led, Environmental Educators and Naturalists Association. It invites community members and organizations to share how they help the environment. The theme for this years fair was stories of the Earth.
Aleda Chambers, the President of E.E.N.A. said, “This is a really meaningful opportunity for a lot of these organizations to get together, a lot of the people who are tabling at our event only get to see each other at this time of year every year.”
The Treasurer of the Association, Brandon Smith, added on, “I think it just really showcases the importance of community and sharing ones story… And having it all be facilitated in nature and enjoying that.”
Students got the chance to talk to these organizations, to see what might interest them in the future. As well as listen to what is being done on campus right now, to support the environment.
