WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A multi-million dollar repaving project will get underway next week on a busy Marathon County highway.
Governor Tony Evers has signed a $10.1 million contract to rebuild Highway 29 between Purple Martin Lane and the Little Rib River beginning June 2nd and wrapping in the fall. The project covers a stretch of highway from Wausau to just west of Marathon City.
Crews will resurface the highway, replace culvert pipes, and install new guardrails at spot locations. American Asphalt will serve as the prime contractor.
One lane of traffic will be open in each direction at all times.
