HATLEY, WI (WSAU) — Two people were injured in a Tuesday morning house fire in Hatley.
The fire was reported at about 12:05 AM on Kirkwood Street. When crews arrived, they found a 67-year-old woman outside the home with burn injuries. She informed crews that another woman was trapped inside.
Firefighters were able to locate the woman and extract her from the home. She was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
The other woman was also hospitalized for her injuries and has been sent on to the UW burn unit for further treatment.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Responding agencies included the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office, Hatley Fire/EMS, Ringle Fire Department, Birnamwood Fire/EMS, SAFER EMS, Riverside EMS, and the Mountain Bay Police Department.
