Morgan Geyser
WAUKESHA, WI (WSAU) Morgan Geyser, who admitted to stabbing a classmate a decade ago, will be released from a state mental hospital.
Geyser and Anissa Weier lured a middle school classmate into the woods and stabbed her 2014. They were paying homage to the fictional horror character Slender Man.
A judge ruled Thursday that Geyser, 22, had made progress in the treatment of her mental illness. She will live in a group home under the supervision of the Department of Health Services.
An earlier relief plan was blocked by a judge in April because of objections from the victim’s family. Parts of the plan have since been re-worked.
Geyser’s co-defendant, Anissa Weier, was released in 2021. She is subject to ongoing monitoring and mental health counseling, and now lives with her father.
The two girls were arrested a short time after the attack. They were walking along Interstate 94, where they planned to walk to the fictional Slender Man’s mansion in the Nicolet-Chequamegon National Forest.
