LOS ANGELES, CA (WSAU)– There were some scary moments late but the Milwaukee Brewers extended their winning streak to 10 by sweeping the LA Dodgers over the weekend. Sunday, Milwaukee held on for a 6-5 win which moved them into a first place tie with the Cubs in the Central Division.
The Dodgers built a three run lead in the third inning which included a two-run homer from Shohei Ohtani. The Brewers quickly responded with three of their own in the 4th. Andrew Monasterio had an RBI single and the Brewers tacked on an unearned run as well.
The Dodgers regained the lead in the fifth on a solo home run from Esteury Ruiz but once again Milwaukee answered in the next inning with three more runs. Eric Haase had an RBI single and Issac Collind drove in two with a base hit.
LA pulled to within one in the 9th against Brewers reliever Abner Uribe but with the bases loaded and two outs Mookie Betts lined out to end the game.
Jose Quintana picked up the win and Uribe got the save.
The Brewers move on to Seattle for a three game series starting tonight. Brandon Woodruff will be on the mound for Milwaukee and you can hear the game on WSAU…pre game show at 8:05
