Milwaukee Brewers
MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — Jackson Chourio belted a solo home run in the 4th inning, but the Brewers fell to Miami 5-1 on Friday.
Chourio’s homer, which extended his hitting streak to 18 games, was one of just four hits for Milwaukee. Caleb Durbin and Isaac Collins each added a double, and Andrew Vaughn singled.
Freddy Peralta went five innings and allowed five hits and one earned run, taking a no-decision. Aaron Ashby was tagged with the loss.
The game was part of a 25th anniversary celebration for American Family Field, which opened as Miller Park in 2000. After the game, the Brewers welcomed back alumni players for a Home Run Derby. Team Carlos Gomez defeated Team Ryan Braun to win the showcase.
Gomez’s side included Prince Fielder, Keon Broxton, Yovani Gallardo, and Nyjer Morgan. Batting alongside Braun were Casey McGehee, Bill Hall, Eric Thames, and Corey Hart.
Game two of the four-game set between the Brewers and the Fish is tonight with coverage starting at 5:35 on WSAU.
