Brett La Barge
LAC du FLAMBEAU, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – A shocking incident unfolded as Brett La Barge, 42, allegedly struck a woman in the head multiple times with a hammer while she was sleeping, according to a criminal complaint. La Barge was arrested by police after they arrived at the scene.
La Barge reportedly told officers that voices inside his head instructed him to kill the victim. After securing the house, officers discovered the woman’s body on the bed in her room.
The woman was rushed to a hospital in Woodruff and then air-lifted to another hospital in Wausau. As of December 17, police reported that she remains hospitalized in serious condition with injuries to her head, face, upper spine and neck.
