MADISON, WI (WSAU) — The Badger men’s hockey team fell to Penn State in a Top 20 showdown on Friday, 7-2.
Tyson Dyck and Oliver Tulk scored early to help Wisconsin build a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes. The Nittany Lions would run off seven unanswered goals in the final 40 minutes.
Gavin McKenna and Dane Dowiak each recorded a hat trick for Penn State. Daniel Hauser went the distance in net, making 27 saves in the loss.
Wisconsin is now 8-5-0 in the Big Ten. The same two teams will skate again tonight at the Kohl Center. Pregame coverage on WSAU will begin at 7:00 PM.
The Badger women are also at home today, hosting Bemidji State (MN) in WCHA play. Wisconsin is 15-1-2 on the season and in first place in the league standings, just ahead of Ohio State. The Beavers are in last place at 2-15-1.
