GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) — The Green Bay Packers have officially extended the contracts of Head Coach Matt LaFleur, GM Brian Gutekunst, and Vice President/Director of Football Operations Russ Ball.
The move comes after the team finished the 2025-’26 season with a 9-7-1 record and a first-round playoff exit at the hands of the Chicago Bears. Despite the late-season stumbles, team management says they are confident about the future.
“We are excited to extend our commitment to Brian, Matt and Russ as the leaders of our football operations. Their steadfast dedication, passion and collaboration have remained constant in our drive to compete at the highest level,” said Packers President and CEO Ed Policy in a press release. “While we are all disappointed with the way this season ended, we remain aligned in purpose and have spent considerable time over the past weeks collaborating on a path forward. I am exceedingly confident we have the right people to achieve our goal. The entire Packers organization looks forward to supporting every effort to bring our community and fans another championship that they very much deserve.”
LaFleur is 76-40-1 in seven seasons as Head Coach.
The moves were officially announced on Friday, though reports of LaFleur and Gutekunst’s extensions have circulated for weeks.
