WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI (WSAU) — An eight-day homicide trial is underway in Wisconsin Rapids for a 34-year-old man accused of killing his father and injuring other family members.
Randall Harris Jr. is accused of killing Randall Harris Sr. during an argument on October 31st, 2025. Investigators say the 56-year-old died from multiple gunshot and stab wounds.
Harris Jr. then left the home. When police arrived, they found Harris Sr’s body in the basement next to some spent shell casings. Investigators noted that the home was in disarray, and other family members were injured as well.
Harris Jr. was immediately identified as the suspect and was taken into custody without incident after officers found him walking near the home. He was jailed on a $1 million bond and formally charged with homicide in mid-November.
A judge entered a not guilty plea on his behalf during a hearing on November 18th. His attorney then requested a speedy trial.
He faces one count of intentional homicide, which carries an automatic life sentence, and one count of recklessly endangering safety. The trial is scheduled to run through Wednesday, February 11th.
