Wisconsin Badgers
COLUMBUS, OH, and MANKATO, MN (WSAU) — Both Badger hockey teams picked up conference wins on Friday.
The men outlasted Ohio State 4-2, with Gavin Morrissy scoring a pair of goals. Grady Deering and Simon Tassy also scored.
Eli Pulver and Daniel Hauser split goaltending duties. Hauser started and made 12 saves, nine in the first period. Pulver came in midway through the second and allowed two goals while making 14 saves.
Finn Brink recorded a pair of assists in the win. The same two teams will play again tonight in Columbus. Face-off is at 6:30 PM, and you’ll hear pregame coverage starting at 6:00 on WSAU.
In Mankato, the Badger women defeated MSU Mankato 4-1 behind goals from Lacy Eden, Cassie Hall, Finley McCarthy, and Marianne Picard.
Picard, McCarthy, and Finley also recorded assists. Rhyah Stewart made 19 saves.
Wisconsin dominated the game, recording 44 shots.
The same two teams will skate again this afternoon. The Badgers will then return home next weekend to close out the regular season with a pair against St. Cloud State University.
Wisconsin has clinched a top-two seed in the WCHA tournament, which will begin at the end of February.
