WAUSAU, WI (WSAU-WAOW) — A months-long drug trafficking investigation by the Wausau Police Department led to the arrest of Larry L. Campbell this week.
The department’s Community Resource Unit began investigating Campbell in February after officers believed he was frequently trafficking drugs from the Milwaukee area to Wausau, according to a press release.
Officers conducted a traffic stop on Campbell’s vehicle on April 13. Police K-9 Kaedo alerted to the odor of illegal drugs inside the vehicle.
A probable cause search turned up methamphetamine, fentanyl, and marijuana. Officers then conducted a probation search at his apartment, where they seized additional crack cocaine, cocaine, and fentanyl.
The investigation turned up more than 400 doses of fentanyl, approximately 105 grams of cocaine, approximately 138 grams of methamphetamine, and approximately 10 grams of THC and THC products.
The Wausau Police Department is recommending charges, including possession of methamphetamine with the intent to deliver, possession of fentanyl with the intent to deliver, possession of cocaine with the intent to deliver, possession of THC, possession of drug paraphernalia, and probation violation.
The 52-year-old made a court appearance on Wednesday afternoon and is being held on a $50,000 cash bond. Further court action is scheduled for April 22nd.
