GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) — Wisconsin Public Service has announced the 2026 Name the Falcon nominees, with a nod to local news anchors and reporters.
The list includes WSAU Operations Manager and Wisconsin Morning News host Chris Conley and News Director Mike Leischner, who need your help to get their bird-ified names on this year’s chicks:
WPS has also included our news partners at WAOW TV and our sister station WTAQ in Green Bay. Voting is open now through May 5th, and you can vote as many times as you like by clicking here.
The names with the most votes will be given to the falcon chicks that hatch at the Weston Power Plant this spring.
WPS and We Energies began installing peregrine falcon nest boxes at power plants in the early 1990s to support the species’ recovery in Wisconsin. Since then, 465 peregrine falcons have hatched at company facilities — representing 20% of all peregrine falcons born in the state. This program is just one way WPS and We Energies are building a bright, sustainable future.
