STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — Contractors interested in the Stevens Point City Hall project still have time to get their bids in to the city.
Mayor Mike Wiza says sealed bids will be accepted through May 19th. Alders will then select the lowest qualifying bid for the $15 million project at a special meeting in late May, and if all goes as planned, a groundbreaking could be held in June.
The city council has budgeted $15 million for the project.
The project is part of a larger renovation of city and county services in Stevens Point. Once City Hall is vacated, the county will move forward with a redesigned courthouse with improved security and efficiencies for everyone involved in the legal system.
