BUENA VISTA, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – A 24-year-old Almond man died after his motorcycle was struck by a pickup truck that failed to yield at a stop sign in the Town of Buena Vista on Sunday.
The crash happened on County Highway BB at Bluff Road. Portage County dispatchers received the call at 10:24am.
Investigators say a pickup truck traveling westbound on County Highway N ran the stop sign and hit the motorcycle, which was heading southbound on County Highway BB.
The motorcyclist was the only person on the bike and died at the scene. Plover Ambulance, Almond Rescue, Almond EMR, Bancroft Rescue, Bancroft EMR, the Portage County Medical Examiner’s Office and Wisconsin State Patrol assisted the Portage County Sheriff’s Office at the scene.
The victim’s name hasn’t been released. The crash is under investigation.
