GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) — Wisconsin Public Service has extended this year’s “Name The Falcons” voting contest and announced the top nine contenders.
Voting was scheduled to end today, May 5th, but organizers say the contest has been so successful that they are extending the deadline to Sunday, May 10th.
“This contest has officially broken the record for total votes cast in any naming contest since the first one in 2019 — and it’s not over yet,” said WPS.
The top nine contenders include WSAU News Director Mike Leischner, according to a news release from WPS. His bird would be named “Mike Flightschner.”
“The contest is close — anyone could earn the chance to inspire the names of this year’s falcon chicks,” added WPS.
Also in the top nine are WTAQ’s Matt Z, or “Matt Tweet,” and WAOW TV’s Kyle Pozorski, or “Kyle Prey-zorski.”
