SHAWANO, WI (WSAU) — The man accused of killing 67-year-old Rick Roundy in a dispute over hunting land has pleaded not guilty to one count of homicide and one count of attempted homicide.
Brent Hofman entered the plea in a Shawano County courtroom on Thursday. Investigators say he shot Roundy during an argument on November 14th. He’s also accused of threatening a third person, who barricaded themselves in an outbuilding and called for help.

Hoffman was arrested at the scene and was hospitalized for injuries before being booked into the Shawano County Jail.
The three people were said to be lifelong acquaintances.
Both counts carry an automatic life sentence with only the possibility of parole after 20 years to be considered. They also carry the possibility of increased penalties due to the victims’ ages.
Further court action is scheduled for July 8th. Trial dates have not been set.
