ROTHSCHILD, WI (WSAU) — The Greater Wausau Children’s Museum has announced it will close due to financial stress.
In a Facebook post, officials said, “Despite serving more than 2,000 visitors each month and having strong community support, the financial realities of maintaining operations in our current facility have become unsustainable. This has been an incredibly painful and difficult decision.”
The Museum began 11 years ago without a permanent home. Instead, organizers hosted events in Wausau-area parks and outdoor spaces, hosting more than 100 events. They eventually found a home at the Cedar Creek Mall in Rothschild.
Managers thanked those who have supported the Museum for the past 11 years.
