MADISON, WI (WSAU) — The Wausau Ignite snapped Madison’s home winning streak with a 2-1 victory on Friday.
Pitcher Zoie Mills tossed her 6th complete game of the season, relying on her defense to limit the Night Mares to just one run from four hits and five walks. She recorded just one strikeout.
Wausau’s seven hits were scattered among seven different players, including Mia Johson, who blasted her 16th home run of the season. Claire Calmes also recorded a home run, and Gracie Konkol added a double.
Johnson now holds the Northwoods League’s single-season home run record.
Wausau returns home for a pair of contests against Minot this evening. First pitch for Game One is set for 5:05.
