CONLEY COMMENTARY (WSAU) – Here are some obvious questions for Tony Evers.
Mandela Barnes was your running mate in 2018. He served as your lieutenant governor for your first term. You endorsed him as a U.S. Senate candidate in 2022. Why would you not endorse him this year as a candidate for governor?
Sara Rodrigez ran on your ticket in 2022. She is currently your lieutenant governor. Why would you not endorse her?
David Crowley is unknown outside of Milwaukee. He concluded two weeks ago that he would not be the next governor of Wisconsin and suspended his campaign. Now he’s back in the race, with Tony Evers’ endorsement, after incompetent Sara Rodriguez dropped out. She was so inept that she picked someone who couldn’t count to tally her campaign finances. Her financial reports were wildly inaccurate. We still don’t know if any money is missing. With Sara out of the way, David is back in.
What’s going on here?
What we are seeing is the last gasp of the mainstream democrats trying to fend off the lunatic socialists in their own party.
Francesca Hong or Mandela Barnes will win the primary in August. If Barnes wins, Democrats will try to dress him up as normal. We know he’s a radical, defund-the-police, black lives matter lefty. And he’s already lost a statewide race. Francesca Hong is, at least, totally honest about who she is. She’s an unreformed, Israel-hating, no-prisons, no-armed-police socialist. She’s dreamed up lefty ideas that mainstream voters haven’t even thought of yet.
She’ll the favorite primary. But Democrats know that she’s too far out there to win the general election. David Crowley reentering the race is the end of the line for the sputtering machine of the old-guard democrats. Francesca Hong and her band of crazy lefties are about to thrown them all onto the political scrapheap.
